New Faculty Spotlight! Mrs. Margaret Berns, mother of seven including two current Trinity students and two alumni, joins the faculty this year. Mrs. Berns received her degree in English with a minor in French from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Here’s a little more about Mrs. Berns:
Q: How did you learn about Trinity School? What most interested you in teaching with us?
A: We’ve been a Trinity family since 2009. We learned about the school through a family from our parish; they invited us to dinner and shared enthusiastically about the school. Besides my love of teaching, I think I am most interested in being a part of Trinity’s community of learners. I have looked up to this faculty for many, many years.
Q: Describe a significant life experience.
A: When I was 23, I wanted to be a photojournalist. I spent several weeks working in Manhattan as a nanny for a well-known author, Kurt Vonnegut, and his wife Jill Krementz, a photographer. This experience changed my life on many levels–the kind of decision that set forth a previously unimagined chain of events: teaching in France, making a friend at French camp, and meeting my husband at her wedding.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Reading is by far my favorite pastime, followed closely by photography and listening to the “The Bible in a Year” podcast with my husband.
