Dr. Michael Willson of St. Paul, MN, a neuroradiologist and Trinity parent, has been elected to serve on the Trinity Schools Board of Trustees.
Since 2010, Dr. Willson has worked for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Minneapolis, specializing in head, neck and spinal disease, as well as in pain management. He earned his M.D. from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1993 and his B.A. in economics from the University of Notre Dame in 1984. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Willson worked as a commercial loan analyst and investment portfolio manager at Old Kent Bank.
Dr. Willson says, “The classical Christian education at Trinity is second to none. My hope is that many more young people in the coming years will be able to benefit from the excellent education and wholesome, Christian culture at Trinity.”
“Mike is a brilliant thinker with a broad background that includes science, business and the liberal arts,” said Sam Claassen, Chair of the Board of Trinity Schools. “He asks great questions and he is a good listener. We are blessed to have him on the Board.”
Originally from South Bend, IN, Dr. Willson first moved to the Twin Cities in 1993 for his radiology residency, and eventually made his home in the area. He and his wife, Marilyn, have two children. Their daughter Clare graduated from Trinity School at River Ridge in 2023, and their son, Michael, started sixth grade at River Ridge this fall. Dr. Willson brings a decades-long familiarity with Trinity Schools and a broad love of learning to the role. His interests include math and science, along with philosophy and history. He is a long-time member of the People of Praise community.
Dr. Willson’s two-year term as a trustee began on July 1. He joins fellow board members Sam Claassen, Debbie Mixell, Kathy Gleason and Paul Kane. As president of Trinity Schools, David Salmon serves as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the Board of Trustees.
