8th Graders Get a Taste of High School
This week our 8th graders enjoyed a special lunch featuring pizza, new Class of 2030 sweatshirts, and an inspiring conversation with our seniors about life in high school. Seniors shared what surprised them, what they loved, and the advice they’d give to new high schoolers.
Some highlights:
Friendships Matter: “Stay connected. Admit when you’re wrong. Be open to friendships—it helps everyone learn better together.”
Embrace the Challenge: “The workload and responsibility change in high school, but we all figure it out together.”
Find Joy in Learning: Favorite classes ranged from Humane to Chemistry to Music—students discovered that dedication and being an agent of their own learning can turn a challenging subject into a favorite.
Seniors encouraged the 8th graders to think about how they want to show up in high school and to take their academics seriously.
