2016 Christian Arts Festival
UNLESS A GRAIN OF WHEAT FALLS TO THE GROUND:
Artistic Reflections on the Parables of Jesus
During his earthly ministry, Jesus often taught his disciples and others in parables. Featuring images drawn from agriculture and the natural world, ordinary daily life, and Jewish custom, these parables are rich in metaphor. Used by Jesus to address everything from social justice to personal forgiveness to the love of God for the World, parables like the Good Shepherd, Lazarus and the Rich Man and others have inspired generations of visual artists from Byzantine iconographers and Gothic sculptors to artists like Rembrandt, William Blake, and Barry Moser.
Applications available at tsrrARTS.org or by calling 651-789-2890.
