Why Trinity

There Is No Other School Like This

Co-ed community. Single-sex classes. Classical curriculum. Christian school. No other school in the Twin Cities offers this combination. Here is why each piece matters, and why it works together.

Who Thrives Here

Is Trinity Your School?

Trinity draws families from Catholic parish schools, homeschool co-ops, and church communities across the Twin Cities. What they share is a conviction that education should form the whole person, not just prepare a transcript.  The faith culture is authentically Christian and genuinely wholesome. If you have been searching for a school that takes both academics and faith seriously you are in the right place.

What Makes Trinity Different

Three things set Trinity apart from every other private school in the Twin Cities:

why-trinity-10

Classical Education

Your child will study great works—from Dickens and Dostoevsky to Augustine and Shakespeare—building the skills to think clearly, speak precisely, write well, solve problems, and engage deeply.

Christian Community

Every day begins with prayer and every class points to truth, goodness, and beauty rooted in Scripture—setting a peaceful and Christ-centered tone for a day of learning and wonder.

Single-Sex Classes

Boys and girls learn together as a school community but are taught in separate classes. Single-sex classrooms and small student-teacher ratios help students focus, find their voice, and build lasting friendships.

Culture of Learning

Where Students Want to Learn

Our culture of learning is built on student agency and the joy of genuine mastery. Rather than viewing school as a routine checklist, students take active ownership of their studies—bringing curiosity to their daily preparation, engaging deeply in discussion, and learning for the pure satisfaction of understanding. It creates an inspiring environment where students are eager to arrive each morning, ready to think, speak, and lead.

Faith at Trinity

Faith Woven into Every Day

Faith is the starting point for everything at Trinity. The school day and each class begin with prayer, setting a peaceful, Christ-centered tone for learning. Surrounded by faculty mentors who take their faith seriously, students are immersed in a wholesome Christian culture grounded in a shared statement of faith. Scripture and doctrine run through the core curriculum, assuring parents that every subject points toward truth, goodness, and beauty. Explore our Faith at Trinity page to learn more about our culture of prayer, curriculum, and partnership with families.

Our Classroom Model

Designed for Wonder. Built for Focus.

At Trinity, students thrive in an environment designed for undivided attention and genuine wonder. Boys and girls share a vibrant campus, eat lunch together, and build lasting friendships—then step into separate classrooms to learn. The reason is simple: students focus better, speak up more readily, and take greater intellectual risks when social pressures are removed. Inside the classroom, small class sizes ensure our teachers serve as intentional mentors who truly know, challenge, and support your child. Our phone-free day protects the school hours from digital noise, allowing students to engage deeply with big ideas and one another. The result is a welcoming, co-ed community where academic rigor and wholesome character grow side by side. Discover how our intentional classroom model prepares students to thrive in learning and in life.

The Full Curriculum

An Integrated Curriculum for Lifelong Flourishing

Every student at Trinity follows a common curriculum that treats the sciences, humanities, and fine arts as equally essential to a complete education. Rather than navigating fragmented electives, students immerse themselves in the core disciplines every year—each course intentionally building on the last. This unified approach shapes articulate thinkers, confident problem-solvers, and morally grounded young adults prepared for purposeful lives.

Scripture & Doctrine

Students explore God's revelation through the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament, discovering who God is, the nature of humanity, and the unfolding story of God's people through history.

Humanities

Students encounter the greatest literature, philosophy, history, and political theory of Western civilization, learning how to think by participating in daily Socratic seminar discussion.

Mathematics

Moving beyond rote computation, students develop deep mathematical reasoning, conceptual mastery, and the confidence to solve complex, unfamiliar problems.

Science

Science begins with wonder and careful observation, developing into rigorous laboratory experimentation, theoretical modeling, and scientific analysis.

Languages

Through formal English grammar, four years of Latin, and two courses in a modern language, students master the deep architecture of communication and thought.

Arts

Every student actively practices studio art, choral music, and drama, cultivating aesthetic discernment, creative discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for beauty.

A Look at the Trinity Experience

Nothing captures the Trinity experience better than the words of our own students.

Meet John

John shares how putting in the daily work on the wrestling team taught him how to improve in other areas of his life. He says, “Even when you’re completely exhausted, you keep going, be that with prayer, with studying, with friendships.”

Meet Monica

Step inside a seventh-grade literature class at Trinity School at River Ridge with Monica as she shares how discussion transforms the way students read.  She explains how students learn to build strong, text-based arguments, recognize weak ones, and engage in conversations that go beyond simple opinions.

Meet Katie

Growing up, Kathryn was placed in a special learning class for math. Everything changed when she arrived at Trinity School at River Ridge.  With dedicated teachers by her side—starting with Ms. Pintozzi in ninth-grade geometry—Kathryn discovered an environment where she could ask questions, be herself, and grow with confidence. Now a senior studying linear algebra, she’s thriving: more observant and a stronger problem solver.

Meet Brooks

Meet Brooks, a seventh grader at Trinity School at River Ridge, as he looks back on one of the most influential projects he completed in sixth grade: the Memory Map.  In Minnesota History and World Geography, students are challenged to draw a full world map—every continent and every country—entirely from memory.
