Welcome back to Mr. Henry Brink

He’s back!

Mr. Henry Brink has returned to the faculty after a year away on a Fulbright Scholarship teaching English at a technical university in Oskemen, Kazakhstan.

Mr. Brink, a 2016 alumnus of Trinity School at River Ridge and a 2020 Hillsdale graduate, will be teaching mathematics, scripture, and drama this year.

Highlights from Mr. Brink’s Fulbright year include: (you’ll definitely want to ask him about the backstory here)

1) Being put on an angry and galloping Kazakh horse while attending a game of Kok Bar (ancient Mongol-style polo involving a headless goat) and living to tell the tale.

2) Accidentally going on pilgrimage to the mountain village of sixty people responsible for composing the Svan variant of the Georgian Paschal troparion

3) Sharing a meal with a KNB (post-Soviet KGB) interrogator near the Kazakh-Chinese border.

We missed your sense of humor, Mr. Brink, and are thrilled to have you back!
