Thaw, freeze, thaw, freeze…it’s maple sugaring time of year!

Thaw, freeze, thaw, freeze…it’s maple sugaring time of year! Last week, the sixth grade class traveled to The Landing in Shakopee to explore how sap is collected and made into syrup.

Maple syrup has been collected in Minnesota for thousands of years. The class learned how Native Americans collected sap and made syrup. They learned how to identify trees and even got to sample some syrup, too!
