For last Friday’s noontime series, Mr. Andrew Carr spoke on the process of making art. Starting with early Renaissance works by Giotto, moving onto Cotman’s landscapes, and finally on to works by Degas and Vermeer, Mr. Carr spoke on his artistic influences, and then showed some of his own work. Like those of his inspirations, the included image shows a simple color palette, planes of color, and minimal depth based on perspective drawing.
