University of Northwestern artist Rick Love will lead the workshop and make the screens based off of Trinity School student Cecelia Nicklaus’s contest winning design. The workshop and all materials are free of charge.

3:00 – 5:30 PM Book Binding

Join book artist Andrew Gaylord for an introduction to the art of bookbinding Participants will consider a range of bookmaking styles then, using methods and tools commonly used to bind manuscripts in the 14th and 15th centuries, will make an octavo book with a long-stitch binding to take home.

Trinity School at River Ridge artist and teacher Jennifer Soriano will conduct and illuminated letters workshop using quill feather pens, gold leaf, and other ancient techniques. Participants are welcome to illustrate the first lines of favorite parable, poem or story. The workshop and all materials are free of charge.
